Windows 2000 Firefox file types

Firefox Portable > Tools > Options > Advanced > System Defaults > Check Now
set Windows 2000 > Tools > Folder Options... > File Types > HTM (and others) > open
to "C:\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\firefox.exe" -requestPending -osint -url "%1"

Why not
to "C:\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe" -requestPending -osint -url "%1" ?

Since FFP [or FF within FFP] SHOULD NOT be set

Since FFP [or FF within FFP] SHOULD NOT be set as the default handler for HTM (or HTML) files the question would be how did such an association get set in the first place ???

Are you using FFP3?
...Advanced > System Defaults > Check Now

does not exist in my FF2.0.0.x setup?

Go to Tools > Options >

Go to Tools > Options > Advanced > General, then in the bottom right hand corner there is a button with "Check Now" on it.

Doesn't Matter

It doesn't matter what the links in the menu and options window are. You should *NOT* be doing this with Firefox Portable. It's not supported. And it WILL NOT work right. It'll set the install of Firefox inside Firefox Portable as the default. It will NOT set Firefox Portable as the default.

How can I do Firefox (inside FirefoxPortable) to access the same profile than FirefoxPortable?

Manually

You need to manually edit the registry to point to FirefoxPortable.exe. You're on your own doing it, though, as it's not supported or recommended.

I do not want to replace the FF by FFP.
I want to, only, that both (the FF and FFP) use the same profile, in my desktop.
How can I do that?

That happened because when

That happened because when setting an association with firefox portable, the standard firefox that is contained in the portable edition controls everything. our portable launcher only ensures that settings are not left behind.

Setting a file association to a portable app is not recommended. With all apps on this site, the base application is in control, so setting an association would bypass the portable launcher.

Firefox and FirefoxPortable settings

Why "C:\FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\firefox.exe" not use
"C:\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe" settings?

In Portuguese, explanation below...

I just explained to him how FFP works.

Oi Kick, Obrigado pela ajuda

Oi Kick
Obrigado pela ajuda.
Estou usando o FirefoxPortable no meu desktop e no meu pen drive.
O Firefox, que é instalado junto com o FirefoxPortable, entra quando clico em um arquivo htm/html.
Mas, o Firefox entra sem as minhas configurações pessoais.
Como posso fazer o Firefox acessar o perfil do FirefoxPortable?

Portuguese

I don't think is polite to keep writing in Portuguese on a US forum, so you can reach me at "kickbutts at gmail dot com", ok?

See ya.

I found my answer!

I found my answer:

Edit file:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.ini

From:
[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/ej5a4ltt.default

To:
[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=0
Path=C:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile

Now both FF and FFP they use the same profile!

I thank all who have helped me.

Yep, but...

This way, when you change computers, your profile will be left behind. It will always look for the profile on "C:\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile", no matter the computer you're using at the moment.
This is really what you're looking for?
