HOW DO YOU MAKE A PROGRAM PORTABLE!
Sorry for being so dumb but I can't find a tutorial anywhere on portableapps.
I really like the idea of making an app portable but I just can't find out how.
I know that john gave a short guide here, but it doesn't tell the whole process.
Is there a guide anywhere? Please post a link here.

I'm using Thinstall Virtualisation Suite.
But portableapps team make better... ))
For example - I can't make (normal) nLite 1.4.8.

Thinstall Virtualisation Suite не выход, стоит кучу денег, а тут чтут лиценз соглашения... да и то, как Thinstall создает - не совсем удобно... программы запускаются, но все равно лезут в Documents and settings/application data (наконец-то родной язык! :))

I've decided to do "Programmers Notepad". But I can't find the appicon. The ones I found with google are poor in quality. How did devolopers find the appicon? Thanks.
Oh, and if there's any problems with doing "Programmers Notepad" please alert me.
I believe it is often extracted from the program itself, but often people make one themselves.
Or do both, extract the base icon of the app and modify it to reflect the portable nature of the package.

How do you extract something? like the icon for example.
Or how do you get into the program and change the link?
Whenever I try it with peazip the program is alway saying access blocked or something.
