But it doesnt work. Whenever it runs, it says "ERROR: ccleaner.exe not found"
Why is it looking for ccleaner.exe when the file is called CCleanerPortable.exe ?
Because of what it does I can not recommend using a Development test of CCleaner unless you are into Beta testing apps and know the risks involved.
CCleaner stores a minimal amount of settings data so the paf version is not as important as in some other cases.
If you do want to continue to use it you should post feed back in the forum thread that Ben pointed you to.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
But to summarize, unless your are absolutely in love the .paf format they already have there own portable version:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds
I use it all the time,
Of course, I use it to check, not to "DO"

hi Tim,
The portable version doesn't work either. It only checks my C: hard drive Firefox cache etc, not my PortableApps Firefox.
Any solution please?
I'm not sure if CCleaner is intended to check flash drives.
In fact I'm fairly sure it's not.
I "think" it is intended to check your system drive, usually C.
Edit
And even if you are using FFP on your hard drive,
CCleaner "queries" the system to see what apps you have,
Since FFP is not "registered" on your system, it does not know it's there.

My Firefox is located on H: as I have used TrueCrypt, and it mounts the encrypted file as H:
And all my Portableapps is running on H:
So I need ccleaner to check my H: Portableapps Firefox cache, cookies etc.
How do I tell the ccleaner Portableapps to check:
H:/PortableApps/FirefoxPortable
But also there is another problem. The PortableApps ccleaner when launched says "ERROR: Ccleaner.exe not found"
Why is it looking for ccleaner.exe when the portableapps file name for it is:
CCleanerPortable.exe
Any ideas please Tim, or anyone else?
Questions about the beta testing version of CCleaner on this site should be posted at the link Ben gave you.
And I don't think that CCleaner will check FFP because it is not "registered" on the system.
Think of it this way, CCleaner is a system cleaner, FFP is not part of your system, it stands alone so to speak.

Yes Tim, your statement makes sense.
So it seems ccleaner will be unable to check my PortableFirefox cache, cookies etc.
I guess I will have to just use the Firefox Private data cleaner instead.
Thanks again for your help.
only includes the launcher. You have to manually install a copy of the ccleaner program into a folder. Go back and read the entire post for instructions. Ccleaner isn't open source, although it is freeware and the ccleaner.exe can't be included due to it's licensing. You will find other software (launchers) made this way, due to license restrictions.
What are you talking about gmbudwrench, and what do your comments have to do with ccleaner cleaning out the portablefirefox cache and cookies?
He's talking about the error message you were getting when trying to launch ccleaner portable.
Lets see if I can explain this better:
All apps hosted here at PortableApps.com have a specific directory structure.
PortableApps
-[AppName]Portable
---App
-----AppInfo
-----[AppName]
-----DefaultData
---Data
-----Settings
---Other
-----Help
-------images
-----Source
In this directory structure, the [AppName] directory contains a standard version of the application. The [AppName]Portable directory contains the [AppName]Portable.exe. [AppName]Portable.exe is what we call a launcher. This launcher will backup local settings if any, move the portable settings onto the machine, then it launches the standard version of the application (located inside [AppName]). After [AppName] is closed, the launcher ([AppName]Portable.exe) saves portable settings back to the stick and restores local settings.
The package here is a LAUNCHER ONLY package for CCleaner. This means that the standard version of CCleaner is not in the [AppName] (in this case /App/CCleaner/) directory.
The launcher requires that standard version to be there, and since it is not, it displays the error message that ccleaner.exe cannot be found.

Thanks Zach,
Yes, that would explain the error with the Dev test version completely.
