is PortableApps legal?

Can I use PortableApps and all the other apps from this website with confidence knowing that it is 100% legal and not breaching any (c) laws?

Thank you for understanding my concern.

Yes,

The official releases are legal.

As far as we know the apps that are in testing are legal but we would be certain before they became official.

Links that are posted by users can be questionable but are deleted if they are found to be illegal.

Thank you Tim. I have

Thank you Tim. I have installed the suite from this website and a few more apps from this website, e.g Gimp.

So I just wanted to make sure that what I am using is 100% legal and is not breaching any (c) etc.

Yes

Yes, all releases here are legal. We respect trademark law and have agreements when necessary (we have permission from Mozilla for the use of the Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird marks, for instance). We respect copyright law (we don't repackage closed source software without permission). And we respect open source licenses (you'll find the applicable licenses and notices within each release as well as links back to PortableApps.com where you can download the source from our project servers). We've respected all these from the beginning and will continue to do so.

You can download our software and use it on as many devices as you'd like. You can even share it with friends. All legally. And all free.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

spred the word

if you think its great like many of us do then spread the word this is a terrific project and many of us non programing types marvel at what the developers do especially since some of them are students so this is done in there free time.

Majority?

I think that the majority of us (developers) are actually students, secondary or tertiary... though whether that's true when only counting official devs, I'm not entirely sure. In Beta Testing, though, sometimes I'm made to feel old... and I'm only 16!

I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

lol

I'd still be in elementary school if the school system didn't change :P.
Speaking of official, I still wonder why SMPlayer Portable refuses to work in Vista.
