OUTDATED: I started a thread for the 0.9 version here: https://portableapps.com/node/14775
Virtual Volumes View Portable: Virtual Volumes View Portable
Category: Utilities
Description: VVV is an application that catalogs the content of removable volumes like CD and DVD disks for off-line searching. Folders and files can also be arranged in a single, virtual file system. Each folder of this virtual file system can contain files from many disks so you can arrange your data in a simple and logical way. VVV also stores metadata information from MP3 files: author, title, album and so on.

Note: The next official released version of VVV will have a new logo. Unsure when any new release is happening though.
Looks like a cool app, i'll test it out tonight.
If you don't mind, using this template fill out the info and add a comment to the Development Test page.

Yeah maybe using the template would be useful. Note however the app uses my own custom launcher and omits readme.txt files.
Dang
You And That Template. Lol
Na na na, come on!
LOGAN, this is a really cool app, but you're just using the PortableApps.com Installer code with a few tweaks you may think are for convenience. Although you left the PortableApps.com Trademark intact, you removed John's copyright, slapped yours on and called it your generic portable installer.
So this is really almost all Johns work installer wise, why didn't you leave his copyright?
Copyright Added.
The 'tweaks' as you call it are very useful when starting a new app. The PortableApps branding is in the script but 'turned off' and can be turned on with a switch in the AppInfo.nsh.
Take a closer look at the complete installer...
I have updated the Installer, Launcher and Help file to the official PortableApps.com versions.
Great, all seems to work well, and I can actually follow the code now too
I'll let Patrick dig in and get picky about the PAF conformedness stuff.
What name should I use for you on the Development Test page? Currently I'm using LOGAN

You don't have a /App/DefaultData folder, but there is code in the launcher to copy files from /App/DefaultData to /Data/settings
If possible, try to make the app save somewhere on the current drive instead of defaulting to the "My Documents" folder on the system

1 ah, must have been some script left from the template I used.. (Weeee could need a 'official' clean templaaaate)
2 Hmm, The launcher will use the Documents folder on the portable (current) drive. If there is no Documents folder in the root of your thumbdrive it will switch back to its default.
1) ok...not sure about finding an official clean template lol
2) i dont think I had the Documents folder on my drive, in which case everything worked fine

And... here's the small stuff I promised.
That's all. Very well done, and good app choice.
1. Oops, look at it tomorrow
2. Thanks.. *Snags the cookie and eats it :)*
3. Hmm, you sure? I remember I needed that created or the app gave an error.
4. Aarg.. hmmm I'm unsure what version I used
5. Yeah, but I'm unsure how to handle that. (I assumed the Documents folder being part of PAM. Hmm I could maybe check if folder exists.) If the folder isnt found the app will revert to the PC's 'My Documents" folder according to a previous report. (So no Documents folder is unwillingly created anyway). Suggestions on that?
I'll look at these points soon and will post an update to the test release.
Thanks for the report!
Looks like you put the version of the app as the VER in the launcher, which should be the launcher version (1.5.7.0).
As for checking variables and directories, I did something like that with my BonkEnc Pre-Release, and dbdii's Lightscreen Portable.
- If documents folder is not present, select root of current drive
- Fixed help.html issues
I haven't yet implemented "check to see if the env var of the future PAM release 'PortableApps.comDocuments' exists"
I added a high-res icon for VVV to download to facilitate any official splash screen/ download page graphic.
The next official release will get a more appropriate logo/icon but I'm unsure when any new release on SourceForge will be coming though.
whats up link not working u wanna fix that?
Never curse the alligator till you done cross the bridge.
Ah sorry, I started a thread for the 0.9 version here: https://portableapps.com/node/14775
