Is there a spyware checker for portableapps firefox?

Is there a trojan, rootkit, spyware etc. application that will browse through the FirefoxPortable folder and check for any spyware and nasty cookies etc?

Something like Spybot search & destroy perhaps?

Thank you

The simple answer in no.

The simple answer in no.

Your asking for alot Blum
trojan, rootkit, spyware etc.

There is no program that does this specially for FFP.

You need to rely on your generic [system] antimalware tools to check for viruses, trojans, rootkits, and spyware. They generally can be told to check your whole system or specific drives or directories.

The cookies will be a little harder as most programs will not be able to detect that FFP is on your system in order to detect your FFP cookies.

Spybot S&D can search your system, including flashdrives "I think", but I don't think it will detect FFP as an installed program and therefore check it's cookies.

Tim, is there a problem me

Tim, is there a problem me asking? Why do you seem upset about it?

I am new here, trying to learn. I been spreading the news about portableapps, but you do not seem to have the empathy or patience to want to answer and help.

Tim, realise this.. projects are either a success or failure, and a lot has to do with the attitude and support of the developer(s).

It's your choice how much you want to see portableapps succeed by how you use your attitude.

It's all about word of mouth, but you do not seem to want to help, only to be criticial of someone wanting to learn.

I think I may have to move on and stop recommending this website.

You seem too political too, saying I should not post in wrong areas. Who cares? It wasn't a big deal.

I am beginning to see why so few regulars attend here now. Your attitude needs a overhaul.

???

You are replying to another post here and it is confusing.
I merely stated in the other post that I was going to move your post to the correct forum, that is one of my jobs as a moderator. Someone else might have done it without telling you, and I did it in the context of also trying to answer your question.

I believe I am trying to answer your questions.
I do not feel I have expressed "attitude" towards you in anyway but as you feel I have I apologize.

I should have been off line 20 minutes ago but have stayed on trying to help you. If this means my answers to your questions has been short, again, I apologize.

I will let someone else take it from here.

Respetfully,
Tim

Don't worry about it Tim.

Don't worry about it Tim. It's just when you said, "Your asking for alot" it made me feel that you are irritated by people asking and trying to learn.

I really do like this website and the project. I am just trying to learn, that's all. So I don't believe I am "asking for a lot", I am just asking in general to learn more about how everything works.

Just some kind and productive feedback........ Work on your empathy and patience skills Smile

Thanks Tim.

Final Note

Your asking for alot Blum
trojan, rootkit, spyware etc.

Was referring to an "app" that did alot, trojans, rootkits, spywares, etc.

It had nothing to do with you or the number of questions you've asked.

It's not that he was irritated.

He wasn't really irritated. He was just notifying you that most apps are not designed to check for all those things. When on your home computer, as Tim said, use your virus scanning, spyware scanning, etc... software on your flash drive. That way it can check for viruses, spyware, etc... on your drive and be safer when using guest pcs. Also, for an added security, use firefox portable live, found in the FFPE page here. It prevents spyware from writing to your folder, due to the fact it is on a cd/write protect flash drive/sd card therefor leaving your folder untouched. Thanks for being polite, by the way. I too would like an app that could check all that stuff on the go, but the feasibility of it is almost impossible.
