Yay!

I know this post is old but,
my flash drive survived from the washing machine two times so far.

Same here

and it's strange how everybody knows of this very well known yet not exactly practical hack.

Question

Is just encasing the thumb drive casing in epoxy instead of removing the innards from the case a viable option ?

Would you

really want to do that, making your drive feel icky and covered in transparent dried glue???

Not really an issue

I wouldn't really mind as I prefer functionality to style

Not Style

I'm talking about feel (I hold my drive wherever I go).

Actually

There is really no need for this. There are usb drives that are waterproof and shock proof out there in the market. Wait till they go on sale. They aren't that expensive. There's one right now on sale for 34.99 @ ncix.com. Just go out and buy a waterproof usb.

of course...

you can use the perficly good flash drive you already have and cover it in epoxy for about $30.00 less than if you were to buy a waterproof one. Biggrin
