I love the portable apps suite and have installed it on several flash drives. The problem I have is that in explorer it shows the name of each drive as "PortableApps.com". I would like to be able to distinguish which drive is which without looking at the drive contents. Is there any way to rename it like maybe PortableApps.com_1,_2 or maybe _a,_b etc. or something along those lines? I've tried using the drive manager but it doesn't even show that name.

the latest version of the menu (should be 1.1, check Options-About), you can just click ob the name displayed in the bottom left corner and rename it.

In the menu, just click on the drive's name in the lower left. It will let you change it from there. You may have to eject and re-insert to get the new name to show up in Explorer.
We handle the naming in the autorun.inf which lets you do longer names on FAT32 (which normally only handles 11 characters) and be able to use special characters like \/:*?:<>| in the name. As of the 1.1 release, the menu lets you rename it easily without having to edit the file.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I tried the lower left click trick (way too easy) and removed and reinserted and all worked as advertised....life is good!
Is there some sort of an FAQ that would have mentioned this that I may have overlooked?
