Portable apps menu > Options > Large or Small Fonts

Why can't the option to choose large or small fonts in the menu options menu be memorized ? Each time I have to reset that option to large fonts

Update

The original 1.0 release didn't remember your options. You should update to the current 1.1 release to get that and more (draggable, eject, multilingual, tray right-click, etc). You can download the 1.1 Platform (Menu, Backup) from the PortableApps.com Download page. Just install it to the same drive over the existing copy.

Yup

As with all our apps, the Platform can be "in place upgraded"... you install the new one right over the old one and it just works without losing your data.

Not sure about the error, but I'd suspect a corrupt installer.

OK thanks, I'll check that

OK thanks, I'll check that out about the installer and DL another one rightaway.

Edit: All OK and done in the meantime, but how come I still have to go to Options > Refresh icons (for the app icons in the menu); each time I start up again. Is there no fix for this ?

You don't

The PortableApps.com Menu looks for all installed apps on startup. Options - Refresh icons just tells it to do the same thing again. The only time you have to use that is when you manually install an app after the platform is already started.

If it's not finding them all, you probably have some logical or physical errors on your device. It should be checked and backed up ASAP.

Ye thanks, LOL. Logical or physical errors on my device and the need to checkup and backup you say? Done the last.

Still need to refresh the app icons each time I start up. How do I remedy the other 3 things ?

What?

What do you mean the icons are not showing up? Does the menu appear blank? Is it missing specific apps?

What other 3 things?

if you don't refresh at startup?

No, no. All the applications

No, no. All the applications show up in the menu. Only the icons in front of the applications remain blank (standard white 16x16 icon). They only appear if I do a "Refresh App Icons" (Options).

With other 3 things I mean what you say "logical or physical errors and checking". LOL the 4th thing was the BU that I made in the meantime.

Icon Cache

This issue might crop up on a PC with icon cache issues. It happens in the Windows start menu, too, sometimes. Trying clearing your icon cache and then restarting the menu.

Cleaning up icon cache or

Cleaning up icon cache or replacing icon cache won't help. I use the "On Display" function from MicroAngelo Icon editing software for that. The icons in front of the app. in the menu are the only icons not appearing in my Vista OS. So I guess it's a PortApp bug. Is there no auto-refresh possible (through some *.ini file), so that I won't have to refresh these icons each time I start up the PortApp menu.
