Good work Steve, It

Good work Steve, It works!

Only a couple of issues, those being:

The "Test" Message was rather cryptic at first, but I figured it out after a sec. It tells you the location of the backup procedure's temp folder. Maybe make the message a little more informational, in case it can't delete a couple of files, so you can clean them up yourself.

It seems unable to delete read-only files.

Probably too much to ask since it calls on 7zip to make the archive, so I doubt a progress indicator would be doable.

Requests: A job timer, and a configurable log function, with individual job logs and a master log, with categories like Job time, origional size, archive size, time since last job.
When append is implemented, time since last append, time, appended size, etc.

I think this app has great potential.

I'm learning C++ (slowly, still pretty basic stuff) with helpo from tutorials on the web, and using wxDevC++, and hopefully I'll get to the point I might be able to help ya. Till then, keep up the good job.

Yeah,

Sounds like some good ideas. I'll put an archive information panel in RC2 along with the Restore (Append) option, the Date/Time option and a Restore option. The test message is jst a debugging thing. As for deleting read only, I'll have a look.

Is this idea worth merit?

Combining Sync & Backup into one applet, there does seem to be a little crossover and you have a "one stop shop" for all backup/sync needs.

Just an idea.

He does have a point, Steve.

He does have a point, Steve. There is some crossover, and that does seem to speak to user-friendliness.

Pretty good.

Though, not sure about mkPort for the name. I liked Lapwing more. Easier to make icons Wink
Any suggestions for PortaBlog before I remove the beta?
