has anybody had any issues with celesta portable?? Please use CelestiaRemoveReg.reg to remove the registry for now. Maybe I should change the sleep value and see if it has an effect on the registry.

I am recompiling a new launcher, I removed some of the Sleep 100 things and now it seems to work fine, I am just waiting for it to recompile, but it is taking a while since it is a big file. If you could, would you test out my new test when i get it uploaded, which will probably be around 10-30 min after this post or maybe an hour. Well I guess while Im waiting Im gonna go jogging, so if there is anything you find please let me know, thanks for testing.

well i'm glad it's working, but i still am finding plenty of things for you to fix in the code. i guess i can wait to play with your new version if you want.
Edit: what's your email? would you be too offended if i sent you a largely edited version of your program? about 95% of the registry code is unnecessary.

EDIT: Yeah i noticed that only that shatters.net key is only needed, but i made the new launcher and I will delete those other ones in the next release

New Test up I really only took out some Sleep 100 things, but if there is not a lot of registry being used then I will clean it up and add them back, I think that was the problem before, was that there was too much registry in my code and it was taking too long to delete the stuff.

Well I made another launcher, this time it has the needed registry, I deleted the rest which makes the NSIS script a lot shorter in lines and makes the size smaller.So tell me if there is anything in Dev Test 2 I need to fix.

did you not use the script i sent you? i see that you made some of the same changes i said, but left out others. See the program i sent you as a reference. your dev test 2 doesn't backup and restore any pre-existing Celestia registry data on the pc, and you're launching the exe directly instead of launching $EXECSTRING, which doesn't allow for ini settings, at the top, !define DEFAULTEXE needs to be celestia.exe, not .cfg. you don't need the default data as the keys are created anyways on first launch. VIAddVersionKey LegalCopyright needs to be "PortableApps.com and contributers". i don't remember everything, just refer to the email.
Edit: forgot to add a smiley in somewhere so i don't seem so rude. so...
ill add those changes later today, thanks for the help, sorry I didnt realize u sent an email till just a few min before this post. Thats why there was a limited amount of changes.

I am about to recompile Celestia, and I was wondering if I should use this as the icon instead, appicon.ico Please tell me if I should use it.
Edit: I just got another icon, I might just need to add a black background but now, should I use appicon2 or appicon.ico?
Well I think I made up my mind, Im gonna use appicon 2 since it is a higher resolution of the original, which even the original isnt that great.

This is portable.
So change the title and post to reflect that, and add the version number, too.
So instead of Google Earth, this is like Google Universe?

I guess its like a "Google Universe" but without the google part. You can get some nice images and more feautures by going to their add-on page which is pretty neat.

It is a popular program, and definitely a good choice. I'll download it next week when I'm at school, cause the internet is faster there. I'll try to get back to you sometime next week.
There was an update, im not sure when, and now I am going to update it.... Were there any issues with the current version, such as settings or anything else that can be fixed before I update it? Thanks in advance

Just for you wondering it was updated May 5, the following bug fixes and added features can be found here. Ill update this as soon as I can maybe later today or tomorrow, I might just update today and recompile the script tomorrow because this fixes a lot of bugs and plus I have nothing to do tomorrow

Here's my reports on development test 1:
The launcher seems to work well. I didn't check the registry, but I'll try to my test later. Nice work on this, it's working well.
There I think I got all of what I needed to fix. Someone Test out and tell me if they find anything.

I think this is ready for a pre-release. I've compiled a splash for you here:

Just replace the splash.png in App\Celestia with this. Ditch the splash in the launcher as Celestia's splash comes up fast enough.
Any chance you can add in the platform language switching and new installer?

I just added the portable bits (bottom bar, flying key and "Portable")... that's the Celestia splash, which is just great. That's why I scaled out elements back and toned them down a bit.

John could you give me a time frame of when this might become official. I was wondering, cause I will be going to school in a week, and I dont know if I will have any free time to fix anything that needs to be fixed before an official release, also, I have some summer homework I need to finish before school starts so if you could tell me when then I will start to go through the code and fix any little typos there might be. I will be able to maintain this app, just probably not the first 2 weeks or month of school.
