You have to download the whole backage but...
It's kinda like installing Microsoft office. You select what you want to install via the custom (Or maybe advanced) option. The only difference is with OOo is that it really doesn't save you much space. All of the programs in OOo run from the same set of files they just have different .exe's to run them. So at the most you might save like 10megs.
