PortableWindowsCE

I found a site that describes how you can use Microsoft's free Windows CE emulator on a portable drive. Here are links to the tutorial and the free emulator. There might be some issues with licensing, but since it is already given free, and you don't have to change the program, just write a script to launch it, you should be okay.

Planning on adding that...

Yeah, I noticed that a while back, I'm planning on adding it to the OS section. I'll finally have some time to do some updates to the directory next week.

nice!

I would like to take this chance to thank you for your hard work concerning the fulfillment of requests for apps. Thank you!

P.S.---Will you be making your own launcher or just copy/pasting his launcher script, because his script has some problems, and it appears to leave a trace in the Documents and Settings of a host machine. I hope to see a nice launcher like the kind you have graciously provided before.

May just be a write-up

It will probably just be a writeup and a link. But if there is something I can address and enough interest, I may do a launcher for it.

okay

I did it before, but you frequently get an error like this: "The device driver for Emulator cannot be found" This happens when you try to run it on a machine that doesn't have it installed locally. And then it won't let you run it. So it may not even work without a special launcher being written.

There is a launcher

You probably did not do step 3. Here it is:

# Copy the following launcher script to the directory you extracted the setup to. You'll need to rename the file from launchce.cmd.txt to launchce.cmd

what?

If I hadn't done that, then it would not even have run. It would have just opened up Notepad and showed me the code.
