I've read a few different posts about this problem, but the ones I've seen just tell you to restart firefox through Taskmanager. Whenever I close portable firefox, and make sure that it's not running in Tskmngr, it STILL will not recognized that it has been restarted. Even when I unplug my flash drive and replug it in, it will not install my extensions. Does anyone know what I need to do? Reinstall PFF? Or is it a glitch?

Try closing Firefox, deleting extensions.rdf from the profile directory, and then restarting it. Usually that fixes it.

Thanks, Bruce! That worked - now the only hitch is that PFF takes so long to load... I'll probably fiddle around with installing/uninstalling the extensions I have.
It will only be that slow once. After that, it won't rebuild extensions.rdf. It will modify it when you add or delete extensions, but a modification will only have a slight slowdown compared to a full regeneration.
