First of all, Infrarecorder Portable is also the brand name of the official Infrarecorder Portable, so new users in this site may think it's the same package and old users may think there's no official portable version.
Secondly, what does it do that the official Infrarecorder Portable doesn't? I've ran the official portable version through InCtrl5 and the only bug was that logging takes place in "%APPDATA%\InfraRecorder". But according to this, your own version fixed this bug because it turns logging off by default (unlike the official version).
But other than that, besides "PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format" and possible UPX prodecures, are there any differences between the PortableApps.com version and the official portable version?

Nope, no real differences at all, just disabled logging and in PortableApps.com Format. It's mostly for ease of use with the PortableApps.com Menu and the backup utility built into the menu.
A lot of our apps are actually done for those reasons alone.

well from my experience with it, infrarecorder's own portable version was not very portable at all. it leaves behind a log and the folder for its temp data. after running on one pc and switching to another it didn't work because the burner info from the last pc was still there and it didn't search for new burners. it also made and left a temp folder with a path to the profile of the last computer and not the new one. and it leaves behind cygwin registry keys. the one on this site works well when switching computers and leaves nothing behind
It claims only the logging alone is left behind (and it can turned off).
I'm sure they looked into it. Maybe the leaving behind registry settings isn't a problem for most people the original developers were thinking.
I would applaud any project providing a (true) portable version of their app. And if they are very cool, they make it compatible with PortableApps.com specs for seamless integration into the suite.
PortableApps.com is the market leader for portable applications and there's nothing holding developers back to jump in.
InCtrl5 confirms that nothing is left behind except the logging file.
Did you actually burn a CD? I believe the cygwin registry keys and the TEMP file is created during the burning process.
Plus, like Travis said, their portable version doesn't correctly detect new drives when you switch PCs (you have to do it manually).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I know because I put it in one PC and called it via the LAN from another.
BTW, starting from the official version 0.46, the log is put alongside the EXE file and not in the application data folder.
