Is there a way with firefox/portable firefox to have them open with different bookmarks depending on the user?

Single profile per install (or ini file) and single set of bookmarks per profile.

not so bothered about the profile, i just want to be able to launch it with different bookmark setings, per user if that is possible?
If that means profile for each user then so be it.
Is this possible?

Single set of bookmarks per profile. Not one for each logged in Windows user. And single profile per PFF install (or INI file).
If you want something per-user (as in per-login... like in Windows), the local version of Firefox will do this much better.

Thanks John,
Apologies i am new to all this.
To try to make myself clearer, i want a single login to windows and then two different sets of bookmarks, for two users.
i.e user a) clicks on shrtcut and it opens with his bookmarks and users b) click on a shortcut and it opens up his book marks.
Is that clearer?

This is only possible through two seperate profiles. You can always have a seperate bookmarks.html (if you want it in the same profie, you must rename it), and you can use the 'File>Open...' option to open a 'link list' within another tab. Or you could write your own HTML (Google for that one) homepage, possibly linking to two different bookmark.html files within it's directory. Otherwise, two profiles, or no go.

ashes for tears, thanks for the help.
but how do i set up two seperate profiles and then how do i use them?
Graham Yates
Copy the 'profile' folder (same directory) and name it to something else. When you want to use it instead of the default profile, use the INI located in 'Data>Other...'. The readme will explain how to use the INI file.

Thanks, cant seem to find a DATA folder or any ini file though?

If you have an older Firefox Launcher, it would be located in 'Portable Firefox Code' I think. The most recent versions have everything more neatly seperated.
