Sorry everyone, I am very new to this, but I am having trouble with the custom background image in the Pictures folder on the flash drive. I chose the image I wanted and renamed it to "portableapps_wallpaper.bmp" Now for some reason I can load the image on ANY Vista OS but not on XP Home and Pro. I get a solid color screen on XP. I have tried multiple images and I made sure I tried .JPEG and .BMP extensions, (yes I changed the extension suffix, not the file name).

Any recommendation or help would be greatly appreciated.
Moody K.

You need to actually save the file as a BMP in your image editor. If you just change the extension from JPG to BMP, it's still a JPG file. Just like if you renamed an XLS file to DOC, it would still be an XLS. So, just open it up in your favorite image editor (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, GIMP, Picasa, IrfanView, etc) and save it as a Bitmap. That'll do it.
Oh and welcome to PortableApps.com

Hey John. Thanks for the reply. I tried that and I'm still having the same problem. Any ideas?
