V2 Rules not working for me

Like the new interface, but having problems with backup. I set up my rules and can see the results with preview. I get my exclusions where I want and are shown in red. But the program still backs up the files and folders in Red that are supposed to be excluded. It backs up my whole flash drive regardless. What I'm I doing wrong?

Further info and observations

I have further experimented trying to get the program to follow the "Rules", but to no avail. No matter what I do it just backs up everything on my flash drive. Anybody else having this problem? I see the exclusions in red with "preview", but it just ignores them.
What I'm trying to do is create a job that backs up one particular folder on my flash drive - it backs up everything no matter what I try. Works fine on previous version.

OBSERVATIONS:

Is this by design?

1) Names of folders have to match case of excludes/includes in "rules" for them to show up in "preview" the right way. I think it was the same way in V1 to get it to backup correctly. Why is this? You can't make a folder with the same name but different case on PC.

2) Entering folder names in the "rules" tab act more like keywords than actual folder names. If you have a folder called "test files" and another called "files". And you want to exclude "files", both folders will show up Red with "preview". I know you can just add "test files" in the Includes section to bring it back. This is okay as long as your folder names are fairly unique, but if you have a lot of folders with common words in them, then the rules might become long or complex. To me it would make sense that each exclude/include would have to match the folder name exactly, except for the case.
Is this the way it was meant to be or am I just not entering info correctly?

Backup still not working for me with V2.0.1

Is this update suppose to address the rules issues that I posted earlier? I tried this updated version and I still can not get the "rules" to work - same as before. It backs up everything no matter what exclusions I use. I don't know what I'm doing (if anything) wrong. Preview shows what I want, but it's ignored during the backup process. I don't see anybody else stating this problem, so I don't know why I'm having this problem. I don't know what to do from here, let me know if you need any further info. I'll have to stick with V1 for now. Thanks

Hmm,

I have been digging into this and I can reproduce half of your problem! I can reproduce it not excluding files properly and I shall fix this in the next release, but I cannot make it show all files as red.

EDIT: It only doesn't exclude if you use a root path, if you use a non root path then you are fine, I shall fix this.

Exactly

That's it!
I was just selecting the drive letter from the left side hit the "+" to add to the right side and did my rules from there. I feel a little stupid that I didn't realize you could expand the drive folders on the left side, then add them over to the other side.

When I did that though on a quick test run, if I excluded a subfolder the contents of the folder didn't get back-upped (good), but the empty subfolder was still created in the backup file. Not a big deal, but was that intentional. Does that happen to you.

At least now it looks like it's usable for me. I'll do more tests. Thanks

Speaking of Rules

I have a few Syncjobs with rules and a few without. When I select a syncjob that doesn't have a rule, the last used rule becomes active. It's no biggie since I've simply created an empty rule and use that where no rule is wanted.

OK

I shall easily be able to fix this, expect it in the next release.
