Is there a performance hit by running portableapps off the c drive rather then installing them. I was thinking about syncing my usb apps with my c:\apps so I could run them off the hard drive for better performance. That way, if I forget my usb drive, I'll also have a copy on my computer.
I was going to sync...
apps usb c:
data usb c: (encrypted)
and use Toucan to sync during plug-in of usb or unplugging.
Anyone have a better way of doing this?
Yes they run and install faster, but I ran them off of the desktop of a write-protected computer which means they were running off of the RAM (I'm assuming)But they might run faster directly on a normal HD.

Also, please search before posting I found a similar post here that would answer your question. It seems I need to follow my own advice
