I emailed Verbatim support about the availability of an update for my U3 drive as the launcher doesn't have the update option and the launcher is much older than the Kingston I have. Their answer:

There is currently no update available.
When an update to the launchpad is available, it will be posted on the Verbatim website, along with instructions on how to update your firmware if possible.
Depending on the nature of the update, it may or may not be possible to field upgrade.
----
So their may or may not be an update sometime and it may or may not be possible.

Well, there's nothing we can do about it. This isn't a U3 support forum. At least, it wasn't last time I checked. It's a support forum for John's U3 apps.
