Permissions on some JPGs

http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcwktbjf_130nw6bdpcq

I have a set of pictures that I took off of a CD. I had them developed from film and put on a Cd at the store. For some reason they aren't syncing properly. I checked the permissions, and they have the same permissions as all my other pictures which sync fine. The link has the sync log. It is mirror update mode.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi

I shall have a look into this as soon as I can, did the files have any permissions set?

Dates on the CD?

Looks like it wanted to "touch" the dates on the CD, but the CD is read-only.

Not on CD

They aren't on the CD any more. I moved them to my computer a long time ago. I just included that info because i didn't know if it would be important.

Sorry I misunderstood

Sorry that I misunderstood your CD situation.

Even so, I've copied stuff off of a CD and had files retain read-only attributes.

That's something I assume you've already checked?

um...

I went a few directories up where I had pictures that were syncing properly. And I told the permissions to overwrite everything in all child directories. So they should have the same permissions as everything else.

by the way, I'm using Vista. I don't know if that changes anything.

I

had a look at the logs again, and it looks like the errors are referring to the destination directories, is this correct? In this case have you tried using the ignore read only option?

EDIT: Also I am not quite sure I understand what you are trying to do, why do you want to do a mirror rather than just a plain Update?

I tried the ignore read only

I tried the ignore read only option and it didn't seem to do anything. I also deleted the directory on the destination drive and let toucan rebuild it, but I still have the same problem.

I am trying to use the mirror (update) sync as a backup. I have a bunch of pictures, music, ect and so I want to keep an exact copy on an external hard drive in case my laptop hard drive fails. I periodically update pictures/music and delete some. I was under the impression that update would not remove files that I delete, or account for me moving a folder/file around, so mirror (update) seemed the best way to back them up. Am I correct in that?
