Hello everybody
I just installed TB on a new laptop and want to keep it in sync with my TBP, however it seems TB is ignoring the data I keep copying over.
no matter what i do , TB always starts from scratch, ignoring the profile with all the mail and data.
I have tried starting TB, then moving all the files into the newly created ******.default folder. I have tried creating a new folder and edited the profiles.ini file accordingly, however the only thing that has been updated are the addons
Any suggestions anybody?
thank you
Marco

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
I personally use Gmail which offer IMAP, so I have no sync issues.
Other than that, maybe you could try to make a full synchronization of your profile folder with Toucan?
Toucan is a custom built portable app for advanced users to synchronise, backup and encrypt their data, wherever they are.

This post seems to address the OP direct question if he does choose to use Toucan:

Note to Marco:I myself do not use the program and know little about it's sync functions. If you do decide to use it follow the creators instruction about backing up before testing.

A program to sync the data in your portable data folder with your Documents & Settings/blabla data folder... any sync program can do that...
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
I've made a small tutorial on how to do this, the topic about it can be found here: https://portableapps.com/node/15889
