GnuCash Portable 2.2.7 Preferences Problem

Preferences are not getting saved.

Data file selected needs to be selected again next time the application is opened, it's not opening by default.

Tip of the Day and Open/New Data file dialogs at the startup are not getting disabled.

Anyone sorted out these issues? What's the fix?

Relax...

Please be patient. If someone has an answer to your question, they'll post something about it. Bumping is not necessary, as it takes attention away from relevant topics. Next time, make sure you read the forum guidelines. Remember that everyone here is doing developing apps and supporting them in their spare time, for free.

It looks to me like you're running GnuCash from a read only directory, I'm not sure though. Anyway, welcome to the forums! Smile

Oops, Am sorry! I thought may be no one noticed and hence no replies. It's just that the app is so wonderful, I want to use it regularly, but the preferences thing was annoying when ever i start the app. I am not running it from a read only directory.

Thanks for the reply, will be careful Smile

Reset

I'd suggest resetting the preferences. You can do this by browsing to GnuCashPortable\Data and deleting everything in there. Your actual GnuCash file should be saved elsewhere (like documents). If not, move it before deleting.

Also be sure to check your external drive for errors.

Firewall?

Is it possible a software firewall is silently blocking it? GnuCash uses a loopback (net connection back to the machine itself) to store settings. Most software firewalls handle these types of things very badly.
