Portable App Development

Hi everyone,

I need some help! I'm trying make a USB drive auto run a website link in Windows 7. I know this option has been removed in W7. But I want to at least have a pop up window that automatically appears when the USB is inserted and have the user the option to click on the stored URL without having to alter any setting on their PC. Is this at all possible?

I am almost finished with my BumpTop Portable edition, and just need to deal with the registry settings.

Here's what I got from regfromapp portable:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap]
"UNCAsIntranet"=dword:00000000
"AutoDetect"=dword:00000001

This should be in a .reg file, am I correct?
Also, where would I put this file and how would I direct the launcher to this registry file?

I've finally got my launcher working for bumptop portable, but I face a problem. I need the appdata from "%USERPROFILE%\Appdata\Roaming\Bump Technologies Inc.\" to be run from "BumptopPortable\Data\appdata", however I don't know how to change the environmental settings in the executable.

If I am doing the wrong thing, could anyone point me in the right direction? Is there any *.ini files I need to make?

In a post down the bottom of the screen, I accidentally uploaded the wrong file.

Why do many of the development versions have broken links, I can't test them if I can't download them. I do understand that the one guy had his sites attacked by some hackers, which is messed up. I hate hackers they mess things up for everyone then people like us suffer the consequences.

I guess I sound like a prick but that isn't what I intended, I really am a nice guy. I just hope that somebody had downloaded the development versions of the apps before the links were broken and could share them with me, especially for GNU IceCat Portable, and EyeOS if that is possible.

I've made a portable version of the game Burning Sand 2 (http://www.siebn.de). Not sure where to post this though and if I did everything correctly. Can anyone please take a look if I forgot something and tell me how to do it (I'm still a newbie to this, so...)? Thanks!

Can someone please give me a complete step by step tutorial to build a portable application using NSIS. I know how to get all the program files and the registry entries which the program uses but want to know in detail how create and compile the NSIS script and create a launcher using the PortableApps.comLauncherGenerator.

I have searched a lot over the internet and also in these forums but none of the tutorials are satisfactory. I also didn't understand the content given in the development section of this website.

I have ported the Mana client from http://www.manasource.org & another similar game client from http://tmw.cetki.com/4144 to PortableApps.com format

I have uploaded the installer at http://manaportable.googlecode.com . Icons & splash screen yet need be upgraded. Otherwise it's working fine.
I would be grateful if it's tested, constructively criticized or so. Hoping for an initiative from the admin bodies to try to release it officially in the games-app directory of this website.

I would really like to see a portable C++ compiler. I can not find one on line and would be really happy if i could have one with me whenever i am at a computer instead of just at my home computer.
