PeaZip logoPeaZip Portable 2.1 has been released. PeaZip Portable is the easy to use PeaZip file archiver packaged as a portable app, so you can take your file archiver with you and work with your compressed 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, RAR files and more on the go. This release updates the included PeaZip to the latest release, adding better authentication support and drag and drop. It's packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

New In This Release

PeaZip was updated to 2.1 (releases notes at bottom of linked page) adding better authentication support, drag and drop and an improved file manager. Installer / Format

PeaZip Portable is packaged in a Installer so it will automatically detect an existing installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in Format, so it automatically works with the Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

BTW, there is a little typo in the first sentence of the presentation, saying that the version is 2.2, could you please fix it?

Sorry to be a dolt but can you please tell me what are the differences between PeaZip and 7zip? Advocate

mostly interface differences, and PeaZip offers a few more advanced options. Test out both for yourself. I personally use 7-zip, but saw PeaZip as an excellent alternative, and a powerful utility, so I packaged it up for others to use.
