It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.

Read on for more details...

1.0.1 Update - 1.0.1 corrects a typo in the app name appearing in the PortableApps.com Menu and adds CTRL-C support. Users of the PortableApps.com Platform 2.0 beta simply need to Check for Updates to get the updated version.

Features

ScreenshotUUID-GUID Generator Portable lets you easily and quickly generate unique identifiers (UUID, GUID), with or without braces, and copy them to the clipboard for use in your software projects. It will remember your braces preference. The full Delphi source code is included.

You can even use the keyboard: ALT-G to generate a new UUID/GUID. ALT-B to turn braces on and off. And CTRL-C or ALT-C to copy to clipboard.

PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

UUID-GUID Generator Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Um, where? It doesn't when I look at it.

I fixed it. Should have said I had done so.

Ah thanks. I'll be happy when the new app directory goes live and I don't need to worry about CopyPasta bugs anymore.

A near identical looking application can be found here. Is this a modification of that app, is theirs a modification of yours, or are they really 2 distinct apps that happen to look extremely similar?

There's actually several apps that look similar. But this is the only one that is open source. The one you linked to is closed source, doesn't support hotkeys, and doesn't remember if you prefer braces or not.

OK, cool. Wasn't sure what the deal was, I just saw that the two apps looked very similar.
