logoNeverball Portable 1.5.4 has been released. Neverball is part puzzle game, part action game, and entirely a test of skill. PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

Neverball Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Thanks for your work on this Travis. I updated it to the latest version and format. And I altered your launcher to redirect Neverball to Data directly since moving doesn't work anymore.

doesn't use old settings. Have to move them on my own. Sad

This will happen with dev tests here and there as they're essentially alpha releases. It will not happen with a pre-release to a release without warning. In general, even if the settings are not automatically moved for you, they'll still be there for you to move in a release updated from an old dev test.

The guy who originally wrote this and put it out in the wild did a PhD in the lab where I worked Smile

Maybe portable electro next :0

I think there is a small glitch with the installation:

As Neverball actually contains two applications - Neverball & Neverputt - it also needs two app icons.
However, it installs appicon.ico and appicon2.ico of which appicon.ico is not recognised by the PortableApps menu - it should be appicon1.ico.
In fact, appicon1_16.png, appicon1_32.png, appicon1_128.png are all there (in \PortableApps\NeverballPortable\App\AppInfo) but appicon1.ico is missing. Instead there are appicon.ico, appicon_16.png, appicon_32.png, appicon_128.png which probably are redundant.
Copying appicon.ico to appicon1.ico solves the problem.
Maybe also the [Control] section in appinfo.ini (see below) needs cleanup as it actuall contains three Start references: Start, Start1 & Start2, but only two Name entries.
[Control]
Icons=2
Start=NeverballPortable.exe
Start1=NeverballPortable.exe
Name1=Neverball Portable
Start2=NeverputtPortable.exe
Name2=Neverputt Portable

Anyway, great game and keep up the good work.

I've fixed this in Rev 2. For anyone that doesn't want the update, copy appicon.ico to appicon1.ico as well and update appinfo.ini to have a PackageVersion of 1.5.4.1 and a DisplayVersion of 1.5.4 Rev 2.

The Start and Name lines are correct. The first Start line uses the name in Name= in the main section. We rarely make use of Start1, etc. Just this and OO.o at the moment.
