PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format

RedNotebook Portable is packaged in a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Suite including the Menu and Backup Utility.

I'm trying to get the app to default open the notebook files on my thumb drive...but every time I delete the default setup directory (the .rednotebook folder on my computer) the app recreates it when it opens.

Is this behavior as intended? Usually my portable apps don't leave traces on whatever computer I happen to have the thumb drive plugged into.

I can confirm this bug. It looks like a bug in RedNotebook itself as it is not detecting portable mode. I'll have a fix out shortly.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Actually I believe that was my fault, I forgot to pre-configure the default.cfg to run portable..... there is a new release 114 out and once the file is available to me I will update and repair this.

I've just posted revision 2 which uses a different portablization method (the old one is disabled in RedNotebook due to a bug). I added in full path portablization. The installer will update your data to the new directory structure. If you previously had your RedNotebook journal in a different location, you will need to re-open it.

I missed that John
