Hi guys, This is my first post. Sorry if eventually it is not in the right place...

Some months ago my pc turned off repeatedly in a wrong way because of external electrical problems and Maxthon portable was open. I have already updated it about 6 times at least, but since then I can't open it through the platform.I even tried to open it moving Maxthon folder outside of Portable Apps folder but with no success. It keeps opening only because I put it as my default browser, but it opens without many of its best features and I can't access a considerable part of my personal data that is saved there.

This message appears... "Another instance of Maxthon Portable is currently closing. Please wait for it to finish before launching it again" The fact is that there's no other instance closing...

In new installs everything is normal. The problem is that I have important Data in this old one... Favorites, History and Sessions. Is there any way I can export this data to a new install or substitute corrupted files in the old one? (copying and pasting... deleting something...?)

Thank you very much! Maxthon is a very cool browser and use it as a Portable App is even better. See you! Smile

Go into the MaxthonPortable\Data directory and delete the runtime INI file. That'll fix it.

Hi John, I did it and it worked but i lost all recent information from the other part I was using. Is there any way to recover it(even it is with a external recovery software or like a restore point to yesterday... )? Is these recent information saved in any folder? I have done no backups, unfortunaly...
Maxthon has 2 different instances for this data: 1 - at Portable Apps launcher,
2 - at PortableApps\MaxthonPortable\App\Maxthon3\Bin Maxthon.exe

before I couldn't access 1 and was using 2
now I can access 1 normally again, but lost 2 completly... Sad
OMG I'm so stupid, why I didn't do a parallel copy... Sad

If you were running Maxthon.exe directly, then that's storing everything on the local PC and has nothing to do with the portable version. All that data would still be on the local PC somewhere within your Userprofile. You can install a local copy of Maxthon to access it or run Maxthon.exe directly to access it. NEVER run EXEs within the App directory of a portable app directly. It's unsupported and will either store data locally or store it in an unsupported location within the portable app that will not be accessible later.

Hey, Manuh!
I had the same problem, and just now solved it!
Your ini-file (PortableApps.comLauncherRuntimeData-MaxthonPortable.ini) must have text:

[PortableApps.comLauncher]
Status= go
PluginsDir=\Temp\nsf65.tmp

Good luck!
