jPortable 7 Update 4.1 (portable Java runtime) Released

logojPortable 7 Update 4.1 (formerly Java Portable) has been released by PortableApps.com. jPortable allows you to easily install the Java® runtime engine to your PortableApps.com-enabled device for use with portable apps like LibreOffice Portable and Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition, and Google Chrome Portable, all without any Java runtime on the local PC. This release updates Java to the latest version and adds jPortable 64-bit for some upcoming apps. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format for easy use from any portable device and integration with the PortableApps.com Platform. It's freeware for business and personal use.

Features

jPortable allows you to easily add a Java® runtime environment to your portable device. It automatically works with apps in PortableApps.com Format like OpenOffice.org Portable. No Java® runtime environment needs to be installed on the local machine and no admin rights are required. The JVM will be downloaded directly from Oracle's servers as part of the installation process.

jPortable Launcher

In addition to using jPortable with portable apps packaged in PortableApps.com Format, you can also use our jPortable Launcher to run Java apps in JAR format. It will even automatically portablize the settings of many Java apps.

Java Portable Apps Coming

This release of Java Portable marks the beginning of Java apps on the PortableApps.com Platform. We have an array of Java-based portable apps in testing and will begin releasing them soon.

A quick revision was made due to a bug in the PA.c Installer when installing a CommonFiles plugin like jPortable within the PA.c Platform. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Actually, it looks like I'm wrong. The link on the jPortable page for 64bit needs to be updated for the 4.1 update.
