PortableApps.com is proud to announce the release of Click Gone Portable 1.4.4.1 Rev 2. Clicky Gone allows you to temporarily hide selected windows from view, including the taskbar button, with the click of a mouse or button. This makes it easy to hide a browser window with your personal information when someone walks by or free up space on your taskbar taken up by background windows. And it's packaged as a portable app so you use it on the go. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.
Clicky Gone is packaged with assistance from author Alan Howie
Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.
Features
There is no need to close your applications if they are taking up to much space on your desktop or taskbar. Each window you hide can optionally be placed as a small icon in the system tray for easy recovery.
CTRL-ALT and left-click hides windows by default. You can easily restore them by right-clicking the Clicky Gone icon in the system tray. More details are included in the Config section of the app.

Revision 2
A quick revision was made to set the portable version's default show hotkey to CTRL-ALT-C from CTRL-ALT-SPACE to avoid conflicting with the PortableApps.com Platform's default hotkey.
doesn't seem to work for
doesn't seem to work for me... i see the startup screen, and there is a process runing called clickygone.exe *32. it is using 872kb memmory. i'm using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
i am able to open the ClickyGoneConfig.exe, but when i set the settings, it sais: "Clicky Gone has been shutdown unexpectedly". i tried to set it to default, but that gives the same error.
Works Ok Here
Win 7 64bit as well, works fine on my system. Maybe try downloading it again, your download may have been corrupted (or verify that the md5 hash of your download matches that on the program page, that would achieve the same thing).
nice
nice to hear that it's working correct for you, must be something wrong here... i verified the md5 hash, and they were the same. i'll try it again once i'm home. thanks for your help!
Problem solved
I had the same problem but only after using it for a while.
In my case it was because a corrupt task manager was running. It looked like it was hidden because there was a dynamic tray icon without a window or context menu. I don't have any other window hiders.
ClickyGone started working as soon as I stopped that process (taskmgr.exe).
For everyone still having problems: close all open programs and if it still doesn't work restart the PC.
so far no luck
so far it launches, but nothing appears on screen exept the portableapps splash screen. I get a ClickyGonePortable.exe with a child process of ClickyGone.exe running but doing nothing visible.
ClickyGonePortable.exe is using 38,116KB memory (it changes but stays around 38,000KB)
ClickyGone.exe uses about 1,088KB of memory, I haven't seen it change yet.
I was on a windows 7 enterprise 64-bit (school computer) when i tried this.
Try CTRL+ALT+left click
Try using CTRL+ALT+left click on a window you want to hide, then right-click on the Clicky Gone icon to restore.
Also doesn't work under
Also doesn't work under Windows 7, 32 bit.
Works Here
Works just fine here on Windows 7. Please try the standard package from the publisher. Also check to see if your antivirus is interfering. If the issue is with our package, please post a note in the support forum.
Doesn't work on Windows 7
Seriously, the icon in taskbar doesn't appears.
There shouldn't be a taskbar icon.
Clicky Gone appears in the system tray, and more than likely is hidden by default, so click the little arrow in the system tray and it should be in that list.
