PCI-Z Portable 1.3 has been released. PCI-Z is a lightweight system utility designed to provide information about PCI (PCI-E, PCI-X...) devices and help you find appropriate device drivers. It's packaged in Format so it can easily integrate with the Platform. PCI-Z Portable is freeware for business and personal use.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the Platform.

ScreenshotPCI-Z is designed for detecting unknown hardware on your Windows based PC. It will help you determine vendor, device and certain details about device even if you don't have drivers installed. Software uses The PCI ID Repository, a public repository of all known ID's used in PCI devices: ID's of vendors, devices, subsystems and device classes. It is used in various programs (e.g. The PCI Utilities) to display full human-readable names instead of cryptic numeric codes.

PCI-Z Portable is packaged in a Installer so it will automatically detect an existing installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in Format, so it automatically works with the Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

This addition is one of the rare apps that is fully portable on its own (not just kinda portable like some "portable" zipped apps). It's added to our lineup for systems admins so they can more easily have an up to date version in their toolkit and automatically launch the appropriate 32-bit vs 64-bit version on each PC as needed.
