logoA new version of HijackThis Portable has been released. HijackThis Fork is a settings scanner that can find common settings changes made by malware and other software. Advanced users can use it to find and reset settings that have changed. Like most system tools, this app requires admin rights. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Platform. And it's open source and completely free.

Update automatically or install from the portable app store in the PortableApps.com Platform.

Features

ScreenshotHijackThis Fork scans your computer's browser and operating system settings to generate a log file of the current state. You can selectively remove unwanted settings and files from your computer. Because the settings identified in a HijackThis log file can belong to both legitimate software and unwanted malware, it is important to use extreme caution when choosing to remove anything using HijackThis. HijackThis also comes with a process manager, HOSTS file editor, and alternate data stream scanner. HijackThis Fork is a continuation of the originally discontinued HijackThis tool.
