Features
OpenJDK JRE Portable allows you to easily add a Java® runtime environment to your portable device. It can work with 64-bit apps in PortableApps.com Format. No Java® runtime environment needs to be installed on the local machine and no admin rights are required. JARs can be run using our jPortable Launcher.
PortableApps.com Installer / PortableApps.com Format
OpenJDK JRE Portable is packaged as a PortableApps.com Installer so it will automatically detect an existing PortableApps.com installation when your drive is plugged in. It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. And it's in PortableApps.com Format, so it automatically works with the PortableApps.com Platform including the Menu and Backup Utility.

Comments
Current 21 and Legacy 17 Versions
The OpenJDK and OpenJDK JRE are now split into current and legacy versions. The Legacy 17 packages install to the OpenJDK and OpenJDKJRE directories. The current LTS packages (21 at present) install to the installpenJDK64 and OpenJDKJRE64 directories. The current version is 64-bit only as 32-bit support ended with OpenJDK 19 non-LTS. The legacy version is 32-bit only and is what is used by apps like LibreOffice.
