Didn't PortableApps.com once host all these files?

portableFreeware.com hosts most of those dlls

The Java Portablizer link is included on this site on the main download & support page for OpenOffice.

hope this helps.

AFAIK

Those files aren't from here.
At least I havent seen them here.

And the Java portabaliser is well hidden on the Opne office support page:
https://portableapps.com/support/openoffice_portable#java

Took me some time to find it...

Uninstall

Help...I took on Portable Apps, and would now like to uninstall - can't find the program (other than desktop icon on my PC), and it's not shown on the programs, via control panel.

Any help for a computer lightweight that got in over his head??

Easy...

I dont see why that belongs in this thread but...

It sais it right on the Suite-Support page:
https://portableapps.com/support/portable_apps_suite#uninstalling

And BTW: it doesnt show up via the control panel because it is designed to work portable and thus NOT leave anything personal on the PC - not in the control panel and not anywhere else.

Hope you get it done.

Begging your help once

Begging your help once again...(reminder, be gentle - lightweight here). Can you give me a bit of a step-by-step? Went to the link and just got self more befuddled. In the meanwhile, I think I'll go play with my Atari or electric typewriter -- things that I know things about (humbug)

ok...

I assume you dont want to keep anything, right?

If you have personal data on the drive you want to keep (like important documents or pictures) copy them to a folder on your Desltop.
Then delete all the files on your flash drive.
Or reformat it.

Thats it.

Just remember -- things on

Just remember -- things on your start menu are (generally speaking) tightly integrated into that computer. This means they aren't portable.

Therefore, if you are looking for portable things, you need to look somewhere else.

If your USB drive is not plugged in, the portable things won't show up at all, so the first thing is plugging it in.

The next thing is to go to "My Computer" and look for the USB drive you just plugged in.

Then go through that drive and delete things you don't want. Save (that is, don't delete) things you do. If you aren't sure, copy the whole thing to a DVD then reformat the drive; if you find there is something missing that you need, go to the DVD and copy it back again.

There may be a "hidden" file in the very top (or root) of the drive, with the name autorun.inf. This will be gone if you reformat, but if not it can be tricky. If you delete what you can see on the drive, but the drive name or icon for the drive in "My Computer" is not back to normal after you reboot and reinsert the drive, that autorun.inf file is likely the cause. It won't do any harm. The next time your friendly neighborhood geek is available, ask her/him to delete the file.
