Foxmarks bookmark sync

In case anyone else falls foul of the latest upgrade.....

Foxmarks was at v1.x and recently released an upgrade to v2.

The v2 option does not work correctly, see the foxmarks website.
Stay on v1.x or if you have upgraded go to foxmarks website, read the message about problems and reinstall v1.x - it installs over the top without problems.

Hope this helps someone. Smile

i noticed they haven't updated the install-source yet @ moziller
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2410

maybe that's because of the bug you mentioned

hopefully they fix it soon; i love foxmarks Biggrin

Their servers were not ready

Their servers were not ready for the load they got when they put the upgrade on the Mozilla addons site. They had to take it down and get the servers ready first, but you can download it from their site directly if you want. You can read more about it at:

Also, I have read if you go to the new version there is no going back short of reinstalling Firefox. Be sure to have a good backup if you proceed to upgrade at this stage, but that is always good advice. I hope this helps clear things up.

Not true in my experience, I just reinstalled the previous version and everything went back to normal.

On their page

they say that you can downgrade to 1 without issues...

Everyone had to.

For a little while they shut down 2 completely, and everyone had to go back to 1. It was fine. The only problem is that 1 and 2 use different servers, so you can't use both at the same time. Make sure all your computers are on a single version.

2 has been working fine for several days now, so I'd recommend it.
