The Web

I wonder if it's possible to make a web-based version of the suite. Hey, you can't carry your drive everywhere, can you?

I doubt it

cause thats not the intention of this site and nobody has the webspace and/or traffic to do this.

Check Gmail. You can practically load all the files on a flash drive into a Gmail account.

Windows issue, not portableApps

If you can set up a webDav folder, you can map that as a Network drive in Windows and run anything you like from that as if it were a regular disk. I don't think you'll get autorun support with that, but it will work (very slowly).

How well applications work in that mode is a different question.

One can use WebDav across

One can use WebDav across the Internet.

I guess the other question is what architecture makes the most sense for what you propose. Just downloading the apps to the local machine and running from there is possible, but doesn't seem very efficient (slow, plus lots more expensive bandwidth than is strictly needed).

Map network drive

Mapping a network drive and pointing to a valid webdav path works. However, it's not quite properly implemented under Windows so there are all sorts of caveats about the server setup, depending on your server and flavor of Windows. If you google mapping a drive to a webdav folder, you can find quite a bit of info on the topic.

I havent had a chance to try

I havent had a chance to try it, but google GOPC. Its supposed to be a linux desktop hosted on a server so your settings stay the same. You need to pay a bit for extra storage though.
