Portable "Folder Size"

Program: Folder Size

License: Open Source

Description: Folder Size adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It´s very useful for cleaning up your disk.

Website: http://foldersize.sourceforge.net

Other: No registry settings will be left in the registry after installation

WinService..

Isn't FolderSize installed as a Service? how do you work that one out? I've been using folder size myself for quite some time, but couldn't make it portable yet... it's a windows service with a control panel DLL plus the windows explorer display settings have to be changed to use it...

Cheers,
Seb.

in the mean time

Btw.. I use ExplorerXP as a replacement for that. I like Foldersize much better.. but I doubt you could get this sort of shellintegration with a portable app!

try explorerxp dot com, they've got an installer which extracts two files - you can confirm that with universalextractor.

Hope this helps!

Don't know...

...how it compares in terms of Harddrive footprint zize, but the excellent freeware proggy "TreeSize" is portable (not necc'ly stealth) and pretty darn small.

Get it here:

Enjoy.
