I want to make a portable apps to run from my usb. Everyone talks soooo much complicated stuff.. What software CAN NOT be made portable?
What software to I need to make a portable app?
Are there straight forward and simple tutorials?

If you check the development link in the menu above, you will see a number of resources available to those who want to try and make apps portable. Are you trying to get a specific app that isn't already listed here? If so, search the forums using the search link above to see if someone is already working on an app you have an interest in.
it is not really that complicated to run portableapps from your USB drive. closed source applications such as anything from microsoft, as well as shareware and freeware that is closed source. we allow only open source for a couple of reasons; #1, the portableapps menu and this website are restricted by the Open Source Initiative, which means that we only offer open source applications that anyone can modify.(Note: this is the shortened version)
#2, gennerally, closed source applications, shareware, and freeware that isnt open source relys on things in your computer to run. an example would be Microsoft Office, it relies heavaly on the computer registry to tell it where everything is. and the majority of closed source applications not including freeware, you have to pay for and there is this whole big liscensing thing and we jsut dont want to deal with it.
