During system shutdown I often receive an error message that the program "lpext_dok_listener" has frozen, and it gives the usual two options, End Now and Cancel.
I am using various applications from the PortableApps portfolio, including Firefox, on a SanDisk Cruzer with their U3 launchpad.
Could someone offer more information on the lpext_dok_listener program?
Is it spyware/malware?
Any information or help is greatly appreciated!
even googling it doesnt give me any results. INfact thats the google search with the lowest number of results I had in a long time (apart from zero)...

If you have the Firefox for U3 currently posted on Sandisk or U3's site (with no PortableApps.com splash screen), you're out of luck as that is unsupported. It's based on a very old version of Firefox Portable (my code, uncredited of course) and has several issues.
If it's the real Firefox Portable, provide some more details (ensure you have the current release from here: 2.0.0.10, install location, etc.)

Sorry for any confusion, and thanks for your reply ...
I do have the latest Firefox version ... it is the real thing, and I love it.
As for more details, I hope the following will be of use:
Portable apps installed on 1GB Cruzer:
PStart v2.9.0.13 which is a portable app launcher I am using to launch ClamWin, Firefox, GIMP, and KompoZer.
I use the U3 launchpad to access Digital File Shredder Pro and EditPad Lite.
I don't want to ramble on with potentially useless info ... does any of this help?
What is the full install path to where FirefoxPortable.exe is? Can you run FirefoxPortable.exe directly and have it work?

Given that:
1) You don't recognize this app,
2) It is named 'listener', and
3) You are running U3,
My bet is that this is some sort of spyware ('listening' to your activities and 'phoning home' on same).
If not, I'll e-mail or perhaps fax you a pizza.
