Ok so I am looking at PuTTY, FileZilla, FireFtp, and SCP. What I want to do is just transfer small files from one computer to a server, nothing really serous... Ok, mabie experment with a litte FTP to get my feet wet. So, which one of the 4 would be the best without having too much (as in features I will never use) with some decent security.

PuTTY'll be pretty useless if you don't know any commands. FileZilla and FireFTP would be easier than WinSCP, and FireFTP has a nicer GUI than FileZilla, but it is an extension. So the two best are the main FTP only clients.
I've always used FileZilla and never needed anything else.

I've gotta ask, I've been using QTTabBar since you told me about it. But is there a way so the back button doesn't go like straight to My Computer? I can't seem to figure it out. Also, if there a way to set Ctrl+T to open a new tab rather than double clicking the tab bar. I fiddled with the options, and can't seem to figure anything out.

The back button takes you to My Computer?? How odd. I want to be able to use Ctrl+T to open a new tab! I'll throw together an AutoIt script for that.

It does. I'll try a fresh install. I always have to click the up directory button.

but i prefer filezilla and fireftp
just because it requires less thinking cause of the GUI
