I'm Back / Status Update / Running Behind

Howdy all,

I just wanted to drop a quick note in the forums as an update. I've chatted with a couple people about what's been up. I had mentioned I was a bit under the weather a while ago. I wound up sick for about 3 weeks and only managed to kick it recently. I should be fine now, but I have some followup tests just to be sure.

I also mentioned that there was an illness in my family that I was going to be away for. My grandmother had heart failure and was hospitalized last week and I had gone to CT to be with her. She passed away on Friday night. The funeral was yesterday. I'm just thankful that we were with her and she didn't go alone.

As a result of all of this, I've been running pretty behind in releasing a few apps, getting localization started and in responding to emails and forum posts (other than a few quick posts I've made when I've had the time). Of course, it hasn't helped that my current host has been having some problems, as is evident from the outtages over the last few days (which, of course, I wasn't aware of until hours after they happened).

Well, I'm back in NY now. I put in about a half day today and am back in the saddle for a full day tomorrow and going forward. I've got about 300 email messages to respond to as well as quite a few forum posts that I should pay more attention to and comment on. Plus, I need to get the new versions of Portable Firefox and Portable Thunderbird out the door... as well as the new apps that are just waiting on help files and summary pages on here to be released.

Needless to say, it's going to take me a bit to catch up, but I didn't want anyone thinking I was blowing them off -- especially if they emailed me -- or that I wasn't going to be doing many of the projects or updates to the site that we've discussed. I'm also looking forward to finally playing with some of the utilities that some of the more-active forum members have been working on and figuring out ways we can integrate them into some of the apps and the suite.

That's about it for now. I just wanted you guys to know what was up. I've gotta run to a meeting in a few, but I'll be back tonight and then back more fulltime from now on.
