Exporting addreesbook and email from Thunderbird running on a U3 USB memory stick

I need some help in knowing how to back up my emails and my address book from Thunderbird 1.5 running on a U3 USB drive

When I have back up the emails and address book I then want to restore them on to a new version of Thunderbird 2 which I intend to load on to my laptop's hard drive

Thanks for the help

Same Question

Sorry I can't help Dave, but I am in the same boat. I have been using Thunderbird portable for a few years and love it, but now I have a laptop and want to load on the regular version. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

----EDIT----

Hey, I've been searching for a little bit, and I think the solution may be at: https://portableapps.com/support/thunderbird_portable#local_profile. just work backwards.

All your data

is in
F:\System\Apps\FEFECB84-0E05-42d8-B044-F2D0FCFF8C15\Data\profile

F: is your U3 drive letter and System is a hidden folder.

Install the regular Thunderbird to your PC, run it once to create the folders and copy the data to the newly created folder on your hdd.
