Opera Not Working with Portable Apps Menu... I need help.

I am using the Portable Apps Menu from Portableapps.com. All other apps load correctly except for Opera portable. I've tried removing the Opera and using a fresh version but it still does not solve the problem. I've also tried this on several computer... I usually get the same error with different drives, whichever one the USB stick was mounted to.

I keep getting the messages:

Command Line:

Loading the last position file
The last position was E:\
The current position is E:\
Same position, nothing to do

Windows Error (with ok button):

Windows cannot find op.com. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file...

I found out that if I start Opera by using the icon in the root directory it starts with no problem. However, for some reason I get the above errors when using Portable Apps Menu.

Where?

Where is the EXE located? It should be in a subfolder of PortableApps, i.e. PortableApps\OperaPortable\OperaPortable.exe

nevermind....

the last time I looked it wasn't there, but I just checked it now, and it's all showing up. Maybe it just needed a 'refresh'.....or maybe I am a 'tard.

who can say?

Hehe

I'm guessing it needed to reload the list... but, you never know, it could be something else Blum

Opera launcher

You have problem with launching opera, because PortableApps menu doesn't change program path. Opera can't find it's files in current path and doesn't work correctly.

I've made OperaUSB launcher. It works with PortableAppsMenu, because it changes the current path and then launches opera. I've put it to folder \PortableApps\PortableOpera, unpacked operausb files to folder: \PortableApps\PortableOpera\opera

It works, without the opera souce code modification. Made with autohotkey.

I've got the similar "launchers" to inkscape, and "tlen" - polish communicator (like Miranda)

Look at this

http://www.heise.de/software/download/special/pimp_my_stick/9_5
short transl:

download opera@usb and strthere.zip, create a folder named like "opera portable",put into it the extracted opera@usb folder plus starthere.exe plus starthere.ini.
Custumize the ini using the relative path to opera@usb folder.
Then rename Your starthere.exe to whatever and use reshacker for customizing the icon.
Put the"opera portable folder" into portableapps folder ,restart and there will be Your custumized starter.

Strthere is useful if there are more than one exes in the app folder,it´s only a starter not a real PAM launcher though.
