Right-click, Save, File Open
There's a bug within FF itself that causes extension install issues when the cache is disabled. If you save it locally and then do a File Open, it gets around it. Oddly, this happens on many sites, but not on addons.mozilla.org.

yeah I was reading on the old site.

As far as i know you cant save the xpi locally for google toolbar but enabling the cache to 100mb installing then disabling it works too.

Thanks John.

saving google xpi locally...

You can copy and paste the URL below into Internet Explorer's address bar to download it locally, then install it using the "Open File..." option in Firefox...

Do it on the above link.

I'm still trying to get a couple forum things working correctly.

Firefox 1.5 Behavior

I noticed the addons.mozila.org thing the other day.

Maybe Firefox automatically turns on the cache while your are on the page, or something like that.
