I

think that Ryan still has a copy of the source, you could grab it off him.

EDIT I do keep thinking about restarting however as I *think* I could now solve the problems that I had before, ah well, maybe after the release off Toucan 2

EDIT 2 Didn't someone on these forums say they had an injection system, now that would be useful.

Great

Yeah I'll ask Ryan for the source and as for the injection system I think it was m2 that had it but he hasn't been around for sometime

If

you could drop me an email we could discuss this some more, I was thinking about it this morning and fancy giving it another go, I suspect Ryan would be interested. Ahhh yes, it looks like it was m2, Ryan have you got m2's address anywhere?

As for the source from Ryan it is pretty poor quility stuff, to be honest it would probably be easier to start again.

P.S. To save us the work on an injction system we could always use Win32APIOverride (I think thar was what it was called) so we would just need the dll to inject.

Well...

Well Redllar I believe is either Public domaining his JauntePE or Open-Sourcing it, even if ours doesn't work we could dive into his source and see how his works, but Win32APIOverride should do the trick though Wink
EDIT:
I would drop you an email if I knew your address, but since mine seems to be well known you could drop an email to me if you can't find it ask Ryan, I have his and he mine Smile

As for hosting I do have space where we start a project space and use SF.net for all downloads and SVN/CVS

My

address is steve(dot)lamerton(at)gmail(dot)com I was just looking through the WinAPIOverride32 (got the name right this time) pages and I saw that they already had some files for intercepting registry calls, but I can't look at the moment as I am on my n800 and haven't yet installed an unzip client, but it looks like we might be able to just use those and simply put the relevent save to ini code in, most of which I had from my first attempt.

Well

I gave it a go with the stuff on the website and I managed to get a list of all of reg stuff, now I'll just knock up a quick and dirty dll to see if this is as easy as it seems!

Sweet.

Nice. I have the source on my old hard-drive, however that's currently out of action, as it was locking my computer up.

I

think that we are going to ditch the old code and start again with the new WinAPIOverride32 based system as it is nice and simple as we already have the injection system that way.

To

be honest that isn't a big issue in my mind, are there really that many pre-XP users out there anymore?

Personally, I use XP at home

Personally, I use XP at home and at work, but I'm sure there are quite a few users still on older systems. Many of the apps on this site support Windows 95 - Vista, and one of John's big complaints with the MojoPac application is that it only supports XP or greater.

yes

I don't know it for sure but I think there are. For example where my dad works, they only use win2000.
But if its so much easier with WinAPIOverride32 I'd do it anyway Smile

Admin, Versions and Speed

It's a combination of Windows support and admin requirements. About 5% of Windows users are using Windows 2000 or earlier. In some areas of the world the % is far higher. And something that requires you to be logged in as an admin (like mojopac) just isn't that useful as most PCs you come across you'll be logging in as a limited or guest account.

Huh????

Pardon Pardon Pardon
I still don't get what lapwing is. Or AutoStart. Or AutoINF. I am awful at name guessing.

Search

If you don't understand something, search the forums or the web, you did this twice in the past 30 minutes, it's easier and faster to search.

I searched.

Here, Google, and Sourceforge. The slightest clue I have is that lapwing used to be wrap.
