Openoffice for U3 directory problems

I had downloaded OpenOffice for U3 off of the U3 Download Central and installed it. However, when I try to run it from the U3 Launchpad it gives me an error saying "OpenOffice.org for U3 cannot be started. you may wish to re-install to fix this issue. (ERROR: The program could not be found: \openoffice\program\soffice.exe)" I had tried re-installing it, re-downloading then re-installing it, and contacting Sandisk who told me to come here. I would like to know how to get this to work.

Did you try

downloading it from here or did you just download it from the U3 Download Center?
Try the download from here. That one worked for me yesterday on a sandisk drive.

Thanks but,

I had downloaded it from U3 download Central. So I downloaded it from where you told me to. After I downloaded I went to uninstall the old version to try the new one, but it told me it could not uninstall it. So I ejected the drive properly and plugged it back in. i ran the U3 Startpad and told me the drive system was unfortmated or corrupted. How do I fix this problem?

Forget my last message!!

I have reinstalled the software for the drive and it is working now. However, the download at https://portableapps.com/u3apps/office/suites/openoffice_for_u3 for OpenOffice for U3 didn't work.

Starting openoffice

This is my first forum ever, so please forgive me if it's not right.

I had installed open office on mu U3 smart drive and it was working. I loaded Essential PIM PRO, which didn't work right, Outlook sync gave me errors. When I tried open office again, it also gave me errors. Unknown program - START,EXE,cannot be started, may wish to reinstall, cannot be found \openoffice\program\soffice.exe. One time I got the mentioned path with J:\ preceeding it. I tried reinstalling a number of times, uninstalling previous install. Removed PIM program and tried again. Still got the same error.

Can someone help me, please!!?? Thanks

Well,

You could always just use the portable version here at portable apps.

Maybe try an update?

I've created an updated version of this for everyone to use. (Tested and working great on my drive!) It's OpenOffice v3.1, packaged for U3 installation. It's based off of the version from PortableApps.com

Grab it, among other U3 related items, here: http://www.GuidoZ.com/U3/
