yuck

I found the game itself unplayable. The original author needs to do some serious work to make it functional.

In the short time I tried to use the program, I noticed there's no \Data directory. One of the requirements of being a "real" PA.com app is the portable launcher needs to create the \Data dir if it doesn't exist. (all my apps are in "violation" of this too right now.) Don't make me try to find that post by John again that specifies that requirement. Wink

Why aren't you using one of the pa.com launcher scripts and the installer script as a baseline for your launcher and installer? There's good functions in there like computing if the target device has enough space available for install, finding PortableApps directory so all the apps end up in the same place, checking if another instance of the app is running already, etc, etc.

Well...

Yeah the game doesn't look that good i know. I'm learning NSIS in my spare time and this app was a sort of test app. It worked so I thought: "I'll release it in case someone is interested in this app"

Why should it create a "Data" folder if it doesn't require one? (I didn't know that it really has to have a Data folder).

If I have time and if someone finds the app useful I might change the launcher and make it a real PA.com app.

Data folder

If it has personal data it saves someplace, then that has to go into the Data folder so it gets backed up by the Backup built into the Menu.
Thats one of the basics of all Apps here that App and Data are separate.
Some Apps dont have that (like WinMD5Sum) so in that case it wouldnt be necessary to have one.

What I'd put in the Data file ...

is maybe the dictionaries that folks may download, or more likely, the saved/on-going games. That seems to be appropriate.

The game's not that bad.

But I did find a few issues. The first being the fact that it can't open any of it's dictionary's. That kind of ruins the whole game. The other problem I found is that in the scabble folder you have Scrable.exe, app folder, other folder, and not found(No extention).
