sync miranda profiles

Can anyone tell me how can I have the same profiles, plugins, skins etc that I have on my installed miranda in my portable one???

BTW, the installed one is the up to date version, not the same version I have as portable... and is on Win Vista.

Thanks in advance!

Well, how I run Miranda Portable is...

I use a USB disk both for portability, and for syncing up between my PCs at home and work.

How I run Miranda is....

I installed the MirandaPortable paf.
I updated it using the zip download of the current Miranda
I installed all the addons that I wanted, and got everything 'just right'
I set up all my IM accounts (8 at the moment)

Then I set up Unison ( http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/ )to sync my flash drive with a c:\Flash\ folder on my hard drive.

I have a shortcut for work use to c:\Flash\MirandaPortable\MirandaPortable.exe so I can run it without the flash drive in place, and I run Unison regularly to sync it all up - properly set up, it only takes a few seconds to do the sync.

Now, when I install an addon, or an update, I just do it on whichever PC I am at, and the syncs propagate it neatly to the flash drive and the other PC.

I initially looked at using the standard install for Miranda on the desktop, but I decided that having the different folder structure for the profiles, etc. was probably going to be a lot of trouble, compared to simply using the portable-type structure everywhere.

It works great, and the syncs make a nice backup of my data, too.

Hope that helps

thanks

What I did yesterday (and it worked) was to copy the installed version of miranda on top of my portable one... folder by folder, replacing every file... and it worked... now both looks the same...

The problem was the customization I did on my installed one, but now both Miranda's have the same configuration... thanks, I'll check that Unison...

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report Biggrin
