Hi!
I love portable apps! It so cool to use my apps everywhere without carrying my notebook around. And a new Windows-Setup is much faster, with installing all my favourite apps with one copy&paste
Anyway, some things annoy me: the lack of (non portable) application, to handle portable applications!
For example: Launchy (my favourite starter) can't handle firefox portable bookmarks.
But the most annoying thing is, that I couldn't find a desktop search, which is capable to index my portable thunderbird emails, and my portable firefox bookmarks. It would be soooo easy for the developers at copernic etc to change this. You just have to let the user change the path to the profile, nothing else. But they just don't do it.
Does anyone know about a (free) desktop search, which could do that? Indexing Thunderbird and Firefox portable?
That would help me a lot!

PS: btw, is there any open source desktop search for XP out there? I'm surprised, that I didn't find one...
Someone requested Puggle a while back. It stores its settings in the registry I believe, but if someone gets around to making it portable I believe it will work for html files.
cool, i will keep an eye on that one! But today, its a bit too simple. Index only 11 filetypes, the result list isn't handy,... but it looks promising, a portable version would be great.
BUT it doesnt index thunderbird emails. That's the most important function for me... searching files and emails via one interface.
Thanks for the link!
Yea, as it's only at 0.1 I'm hoping features will continue coming fast.
but if someone gets around to making it portable
arent you doing puggle?
Please search before posting. ~Thanks
Perhaps. But I don't want to provide any promises.
Hello all!
A new portable edition of Puggle is now available for download at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=212914&package_id=256282
Cheers!
